David R. Snyder: DMV, not voter law, to blame

I read with amusement your Feb. 15 editorial “The voter ID hassle.” So voter ID isn’t “common sense” because it’s hard for a certain elderly woman to get a picture ID from the DMV?

Note that if the elderly woman has trouble getting a picture ID, she also has trouble opening a bank account, applying for credit, applying for Social Security, getting health care, driving, flying, buying alcohol or cigarettes, renting a hotel room, etc.

Common sense tell us the problem lies with the DMV, not voter law.

David R. Snyder
