George Nettles: Plane incident a sad statement on society

Regarding the Feb. 26 news article “Passengers clap as pet allergy forces boy to leave plane”: How sad it is for me to read about the 7-year-old boy leaving a plane because of his allergic reaction to an animal with a passenger.

The ultimate disgust was the clapping and laughing at the distress of the child. What has our society become?

The reason for the family traveling was sad enough, with the father having a terminal illness and filling a dream on his bucket list.

We have one more way of leaving unforgettable scars on our children. The world has too many already.
