Barry Buehler: Leadership qualities

Let’s stop jumping to conclusions about UNC System President Margaret Spellings and wait to observe her performance.

The writer of the March 1 letter “ ‘Investing’ in universities” commented: “How is it possible that someone with a B.A. in political science and a honorary doctoral degree who ran a ‘laptop university’ can be able to guide one of the leading university systems in the country?”

Heck, isn’t that similar to how we selected our current president of the United States? Seven years down the road, will Spellings still be blaming any UNC problems on her predecessor?
