Debbie Harmon: An uneven response

Regarding the March 1 news article “Tension follows fatal shooting by police”: When an African-American is shot and killed by a white police officer, it makes front-page news, for days.

Last month a white police officer was shot and killed by an African-American man in Woodbridge, Va., after a domestic dispute (“Officer killed, 2 others wounded in Va. shooting,” Feb. 28 news brief item).

I have a hard time understanding why a big display is made when someone doing wrong gets killed over someone doing right. Color does not matter when someone is killed, but please give white lives a little compassion. They matter also.
