Geoffrey Stephens: An athletic supporter

Regarding the March 7 Science article “Humans ... by a chin”: I am surprised that scientists have not figured out why we humans have chins. It should be obvious that the intended purpose is to enable football players and wrestlers to have some place to hook their chin straps.
