Irene Rasmussen: We can’t vote ‘against’ someone
Regarding the March 4 Focus article “Romney and McCain say a Trump presidency would bring disaster”: Too little, too late.
Mitt Romney and John McCain are ignoring the oldest rule of election politics: Voters can’t vote against someone; they can only vote for someone. There is no place on the ballot to vote “not Trump.”
Soon, when Trump is the Republican nominee, they can urge their fellow nonbigoted, rational and reasonable Republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton.
