Larry Fuller: Trump trumpets hatred

Lindy West captures the essence of Trump’s popularity in her March 15 column “What Trump fans are really afraid to say.”

Donald Trump gives comfort to xenophobics and racists who have been tongue-tied for years because they have felt it is worse to be called a racist than to actually be a racist.

Trump is giving them approval to act on their “anger” and is diminishing civilized behavior by applying the pejorative label of “political correctness” to stir his crowds and advance his narcissistic-driven agenda. He now threatens that many of his supporters will riot if he isn’t handed the Republican nomination.

This is America. Do we really want to turn back the clock to an era of such open divisiveness and hate? I hope common sense and decency will prevail.
