John L. Saxon: GA shows no tolerance

As a minister who believes passionately in the inherent worth and dignity of every person regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and as a longtime resident of what I believed to be a progressive Southern state, I am disappointed, saddened, ashamed and outraged by the action of the North Carolina General Assembly and Gov. Pat McCrory.

It not only usurps the decision of the Charlotte City Council and other local governments who have chosen to accommodate and protect lesbian, gay, and transgender residents but did so without any factual or legal justification, with little or no opportunity for debate and literally under cover of night.
