Carol Allen: No public safety issue

Regarding the March 24 news article “LGBT protections end as McCrory signs bill”: Wow. Talk about a solution looking for a problem.

I bet transgenders have been coming into women’s restrooms for years and no one has even noticed. And yes, it’s always been possible for some weird non-transgender man to dress up like a woman so he could watch a woman going into a private stall in the ladies room.

Does anyone really think this actually happens? And if the person were found out, wouldn’t a police officer be called? Is this really a public safety issue that no one has heard about until now? Come on.

If someone is transitioning to the sex they know they really are, of course they would use the bathroom of that sex!
