Jon Larson: Bring a birth certificate to use restrooms

Regarding the March 24 news article “LGBT protections end as McCrory signs bill”: With regard to the “law” passed recently, should we be prepared to bring our birth certificates when a restroom is needed?

I have to ask our Republican legislators how is this “law” enforced in a manner that is equally enforced for all in the state? Or, it would seem this “law” is a license for a bigot to chose a victim who then has been prevented from having any legal recourse for this harassment, I fear.

This should be a concern not just for our LGBT neighbors, anybody could be challenged with no legal state recourse.

Fear-mongering politics when there is no factual base as a reason to pass a “law” that allows discrimination that is based on political ideology is evil in itself, in my book.
