Jim Nolan: Order lifted
Regarding the March 28 news article “Couple filed restraining order against neighbor”: Not that he is to blame but ... when a judge lifts a temporary restraining order imposed because a neighbor threatened to kill a family and adds they were just words, it should be noted those words can come true.
After the order was lifted, the very next day, Jonathan Sander walked into the Mazzella home and killed three people. We should all wonder how the judge feels now, like hell I suppose.
Domestic violence cases where husbands kill spouses are almost always preceded with restraining orders, to no avail. A threat to kill should be a crime accompanied with a cooling off period preferable in jail. What a shame.
