Jeff Ward: Pat’s ‘blindside’

In your March 29 news article “McCrory: Inaccurate news coverage to blame for LGBT law backlash,” Gov. Pat McCrory said he was “blindsided” by a question about the effect the bill would have on local fair housing ordinances. He was traveling so he shouldn’t be expected to have an answer?

So there are at least two issues to be worried about here: How does asking our esteemed governor a question during an interview constitute “blindsiding,” and just maybe if the state overseers (GOP) had opened debate on the bill and spent more than a couple of hours slapping it together, North Carolina would have not displaced South Carolina as the the most regressive state in the South.

Way to go legislature!

Jeff Ward
