Susan Marshall: ‘Positive feedback’ lacking
I found it interesting that Ricky Diaz, spokesman for Gov. Pat McCrory, said that they’d gotten “positive feedback” from “businesses” on HB2 (“Businesses weigh in on N.C.’s new restrictive LGBT law,” March 25 news article).
I’m curious, could he, or anyone in the legislature, actually name some of these businesses? I expect them to identify at least two, since he used the plural, because I’ve seen many businesses condemn it (Red Hat, Apple, Biogen, American Airlines, Wells Fargo, IBM, Microsoft) but have yet to see even one public corporate statement supporting it.
I’m sure our legislators will have heard from companies of similar size and impact who support HB2, if only because they can save money by paying their employees less. C’mon, gov, let’s name names!
