James Morris: HB2 violates his beliefs
Regarding the March 30 news article “N.C. attorney general refuses to defend law”: So conservatives in the state are angry that Roy Cooper isn’t doing his job defending HB2, right? Why didn’t they say that about the magistrates who wouldn’t issue marriage licenses to gay couples? They weren’t doing their jobs either per the law. Sounds kind of hypocritical.
There’s an easy out for Cooper to not defend the new law. Just tell them defending it would violate his sincerely held religious beliefs!
