Rexford C. Alexander: Duke students there to learn not occupy buildings

Regarding the April 6 news article “Duke protesters continue to occupy closed building”: I’m surprised at our learning institutions of today.

Students are supposed to be learning, not “occupying” classrooms and making demands. They have not earned the right to do anything but learn; they aren’t even gainfully employed. They should work in the real world before they make “demands.” Duke should tell then to pack their bags and go home.

It is time our schools and government stop bending and bowing to juvenile actions. This is why there is no respect for anyone; leadership had rather be “politically correct” than exhibit strength through integrity.
