Kent Misegades: This Starr has fallen

Thanks to the General Assembly and Gov. Pat McCrory for passing House Bill 2, a common-sense solution to a bizarre act of a city whose leadership is completely out of sync with the large Christian conservative/Libertarian majority in our state.

All those who now feign outrage had no issues with a lack of special public bathroom privileges for 1 percent of 1 percent of the population as long as a Democrat was our governor. Nor do they have an issue doing business in countries that truly persecute people. This includes Deutsche Bank, which has operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This is nothing more than the latest chapter in the left’s desperate campaign to regain control of our state after 146 straight years of autocratic rule.

As far as Ringo Starr’s cancellation of a concert in Cary is concerned, who would have guessed that he was still performing at age 75? I’d rather have Pat Boone perform in Cary, a man whose character and morals are far better aligned with those of our state and whose musical and film success far outshines Ringo’s since the Beatles dissolved into drugs and alcohol 46 years ago.
