Robert L. Mitten: ‘Overreach sledgehammer’

Regarding the April 17 letter “Selective outrage from PC elite”: I am a bit confused. How does one protect the public from a Charlotte City Council “government overreach” by hitting the state with a North Carolina legislative “overreach sledgehammer”?

I believe that Gov. Pat McCrory is missing the point. We cannot have a democracy without protecting the minorities, no matter who they are. He is right, “the issues are complex,” but this one is not.
