John Corbin: Ideological intrusion

Regarding the March 22 news article “Vote to void LGBT ordinance expected”: Despite the fact that there have been no reports of predator behavior in places that allow transgender people to use bathrooms that accord with their gender identity, our legislature persists in propagating the opposite.

This red herring is an obvious parallel to the one about cheating in the voting booth, thus justifying measures that restrict the vote to the “right” people.

For a group that preaches less government intrusion, our legislature doesn’t hesitate to push its ideology down on both residents and local governments.
