Marisette Grant: Businesses are hypocrites also

I would like to propose that you not publish any comments or actions relating to House Bill 2 from companies, unless they do not do any business in countries such as Bahrain, Qatar, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia and other countries hostile to LBGT rights.

It is easy for PayPal to pull out of Charlotte. It can find another state to employ 400 people immediately, and the financial repercussions are negligible.

Yet PayPal, along with Visa and Deutsche Bank, have offices in all the aforementioned countries and more. Pulling out of these countries would make a real difference in their profits. Their hypocrisy is galling, and you are playing right along.

Do you really believe that Saudi Arabia has a better living climate for the LBGT community than North Carolina? Let these companies put their money where their mouths are and then you can publish what they do and say.
