Bill Cokas: Legislators for life

For all the truth-bending and statistic-twisting surrounding House Bill 2, your April 26 editorial “Time to fix legislature” brought one incontrovertible fact to light: 90 percent of the legislators supporting it either face no opponent this fall or won their last election by more than 10 percentage points. That’s some shocking redistricting.

It’s no secret that Republicans are averse to change, so maybe they’re trying to turn the state legislature, like the Supreme Court, into a lifetime position.
