Edie Szyperski: Faith groups help students
Reading the April 28 news article “Christian group sues N.C. State University over speech policy” took me back about 40 years ago when the Catholic Campus Ministry, Campus Crusade for Christ, Full Gospel Student Fellowship and the Navigators each had a profound impact on the faith that I embrace today.
The college years away from home are often the time when students meet people of different faiths and begin to ask the questions about what they believe.
I will always be grateful for the wonderful Christian Ministries at N.C. State that taught me more about knowing, loving and serving Christ. That was part of the great education I received at NCSU – back in the day when free speech was permitted – even without a permit.
