Tom Clere: Cuba, not N.C., on right track

The April 16 letter “PayPal’s alternative,” which accused the company of hypocrisy for doing business in Cuba while boycotting North Carolina because of the HB2 legislation, is of course right that the two places have totally opposite human rights records.

But isn’t the direction that each is now taking the important consideration?

It is Cuba that is, however haltingly, moving toward a more open society and will be encouraged in that process by American business investment.
