The so-called religious right that supports House Bill 2 (“Religious right unhappy with McCrory’s order on HB2,” April 14 news article) should be called the religious wrong.
It is wrong for any church or religion to support bigotry, hatred and discrimination against any of God’s people. The religious right supported slavery and discrimination against black people until laws were passed making slavery and Jim Crow laws illegal.
Unfortunately, the right-wing state legislature has made discrimination legal again in North Carolina and that is wrong, despicable and unnecessary. HB2 needs to be repealed!
