Regarding the investigative series “Deadly force”: Hats off to The N&O investigative reporters on this four-part series. There needs to be more accountability for police officers who enter homes without search warrants, hurt and sometimes kill those who are arrested or incarcerated.
Justice must be met when someone commits a crime, but too often we see examples of maltreatment of prisoners and their basic human rights violated.
The recent movie “Spotlight” demonstrated good work by investigative reporters. We should be proud of our own here in Raleigh, who brought into the light this activity by the police we expect to protect all residents’ rights, even those who break some laws.
