David Streifford: State-sanctioned killing

Regarding the May 3 news article “Death by Taser, in a padded cell, caught on camera”: Journalist Mandy Locke uncovered and exposed a nexus of duplicity, coverups and officially sanctioned bribery.

With the money paid to silence the victim’s family, Harnett County sheriffs, police, prosecutors, SBI personnel and a federal judge entered into a conspiratorial agreement that will forever hold harmless all of those associated with the killing of Brandon Bethea.

In the face of overwhelming video evidence of wrongdoing, the officer committing the killing and all else involved in the coverup go free. That’s how the rule of law works in Harnett County, North Carolina.
