Alan Tharp: Let truckers rest

Regarding the May 10 Road Worrier column “Fearing parking ticket, trucker nearly lost all”: Which is safer? Having an 80,000-pound tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of an exit or entrance ramp for an Interstate or having an 80,000-pound tractor-trailer with a sleep-deprived driver barreling down the Interstate?

My estimate is that 99 percent of the residents of North Carolina would choose the first option. But how can we make that happen?
