Frank Konhaus: Contemptible defiance
Regarding the May 5 news article “Feds: HB2 violates Civil Rights Act”: I am so tired of this choir of Republicans whining about “government overreach.” It is Olympic-class hypocrisy.
President Obama, their designated boogeyman, had nothing to do with the Justice Department finding on House Bill 2. Justice lawyers are not political lackeys of the president. They are highly educated and dedicated attorneys entrusted with ensuring the fair and just treatment of all Americans including all North Carolinians.
House Speaker Tim Moore should follow the rule of law or be held in contempt. A hard rain’s a-gonna fall in North Carolina soon.
