M.E. Williams: Blaming the women at UNC

Regarding the May 11 sports article “Hatchell: ‘Hard not to say’ her program is scapegoat”: It comes as no surprise with the UNC academic scandal that “women’s basketball, it appears, is the only sport that faces a significant risk of serious NCAA sanctions.”

Even in the 21st century in the United States of America, it is still a man’s world, and men will deflect blame onto women whenever they can get away with it.

It’s a practice that goes back thousands of years, even depicted in the Book of Genesis. Adam blamed Eve for his fall, and women have paid for it ever since.
