Louise Taylor: A job for us all
Regarding the June 12 Point of View “Pam Saulsby on the disturbing job of a substitute teacher”: Thanks to Pam Saulsby, the substitute teacher who teaches students courtesy and respect by modeling these virtues. Some children learn these lessons at home, in religious instruction or in 4-H or scouting. But learning improves with reinforcement. Maybe if we pocketed our phones and offered the youngsters we meet a cordial “good morning” or a courteous “thanks,” we too could be substitute teachers.
