Joyce Rothchild: More guns, less safety

Regarding the June 19 letter “The threat identified”: The letter-writer talked about President Obama not blaming the Orlando massacre on “a radicalized Muslim terrorist.” More Americans have been killed with guns (30,000-plus annually) by non-Muslims than all the terrorists crimes since 9/11.

As a gun owner, does the letter-writer own any semi-automatic, war-type weapons? If so, why?

And there are auto accidents where car manufacturers are sued when found to be the cause of the accident in addition to the driver, so maybe gun manufacturers should be held liable when their product is used to kill.

There are millions of guns out there, so why are we less safe from gunfire in our schools, churches, entertainment venues and our homes?
