Karen Gaines: Courageous teachers

Regarding the June 22 Point of View “For my devalued students, I sat”: As a former teacher, I owe a debt of gratitude to Anca Stefan and the other 13 brave educators who were arrested in order to bring attention to the dire needs in our public schools. They are champions of students and advocates for teachers. They are our true heroes.

They have the courage to do what Gov. Pat McCrory refuses to do: fight for the schools our students deserve.
