Robert L. Mitten: It’s a legal thing
I read the June 24 letter “We’re not all ‘haters’.” In it, the writer asked a question about the Moral Monday demonstrations. It was: “Are we required to accept, condone, approve and promote it (LGBT lifestyle) to prove that we don’t hate?”
Since my wife and I have attended those demonstrations, I will try to answer the writer’s question. No, someone is not required to accept, condone, approve and promote anything that they do not agree with. All someone needs to do is to accept equal protection under the law. If someone does not do that, I would call him a “hater.”
