Carol Conway: Zane’s manifesto

Regarding the July 6 J. Peder Zane column “Casting Trump backers as ignorant animals”: Huh. Far right is the new far left?

Zane’s column panning the elites for not “getting” Trump’s followers almost read like an excerpt from the Communist Manifesto.

The manifesto, which is really just a looooong speech, made the case that when people do not have a seat at the table, they (should) turn it over. The manifesto was full of errors and predictions that never came to pass, but it did convey some truths about the lopsided impact of unbridled capitalism.

What Zane described are problems of inequality that the mainstream Democrats have been trying to address for years, with nothing but resistance from Republicans.
