Jean-Christian Rostagni: Hounding Clintons is old news
I am sorry to write that your July 11 editorial cartoon was nothing but a cheap shot. Inspiration must have been in short supply in the cartoon department, as dwelling on the 25-year-old incessant barrage of frivolous judicial attacks on the Clintons should have been beneath you.
Obviously Bill Clinton’s impeachment was on a technicality with no consequence on his ability to lead the nation. It was a matter of private life that some may judge distasteful but really should have remained an issue between him and Hillary Clinton.
As for Hillary, that’s right, she was not charged, and that should not surprise anybody. What was she suspected of? Selling state secrets to China?
Let’s get real. As the July 12 column “A deplorable disregard” unwittingly made clear, if there were any issue with Hillary Clinton’s private server, the State Department should have acted on that. Hillary Clinton has never been or claimed to be an expert in IT. Assuming that she knew the danger inherent in her email protocol, and yet disregarded the consequence, is ludicrous. If there were any issue, the State Department should have notified her in due time.
