Sarah Carrier: Council made right decision denying anti-abortion group
Regarding the July 7 news article “City defends ruling on anti-abortion site”: I want to thank the Raleigh City Council for denying the request by A Hand of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center to move next to A Preferred Women’s Health Center.
The decision denying an attempt to bully nurses and doctors who care for women’s health and their patients was a zoning decision but also a wise decision for all women. No person has the right to impose his or her views about reproductive decisions on another woman. These personal decisions are between a woman and her doctor.
Anti-choice and anti-women’s rights zealots can make their own choices about their own bodies, yet they have no right to decisions about mine or any other woman’s body. The bully tactics are ugly and overreaching.
Thanks to the Raleigh City Council for a voice of sanity.
