Bill Taylor: HB2 bias doesn’t belong on sports page
Contrary to the wishes of Josephus Daniels, “never to advocate any cause for personal profit or preferment,” The News & Observer has evolved into the voice of liberalism espousing the liberal bent of writers, editors and readers.
The last straw came in the July 23 Luke DeCock Sports column “Time for ACC to follow NBA lead” inciting the Atlantic Coast Conference to pull all postseason activities out of North Carolina because of House Bill 2.
I’m not interested in DeCock’s personal opinion on HB2 or any other subject. Editorials belong on the editorial page and sports on the sports page.
DeCock should stick to writing objective sports articles and keep his biases to himself, and The N&O should somehow find its way back to objective reporting.
