Susan Buker: McCrory’s broken toy
I had to smile as I read the July 27 Under the Dome “McCrory: Democrats ‘cheered’ boycotts.” Gov. Pat McCrory accused Democrats of creating an issue about House Bill 2 and then laughing about it.
It reminded me of my son when he was a headstrong 3-year-old. He wanted to play with his toys in a way that was going to result in breakage. I tried to reason with him. I tried to point out where he was going wrong. He stubbornly insisted on having his way. Since I could see that he would suffer no physical harm, I let him have his way. Sure enough, the toy broke. My son was distraught. “This is your fault,” he said. When I asked him, “why?” he told me that I should not have been right about the situation!
Rather like McCrory and his HB2 opponents.
