Cindy and Scott Matthews: Can’t win, change rules

Regarding the July 30 news article “Judges throw out N.C.’s voter ID law”: Senate leader Phil Berger and House Speaker Tim Moore stated “we can only wonder if the intent is to reopen the door to voter fraud, potentially allowing fellow Democrat politicians like Hillary Clinton and Roy Cooper to steal the election.”

This is an open admission by the Republicans that if they can’t win an election on the merits of their policies then they change the rules so as to favor an electorate that will support their position.

Election officials all across the country have stated that election fraud is so rare as to have virtually no effect on the outcome of an election.

I would urge Gov. Pat McCrory, Berger and Moore to not waste our tax dollars on any further appeals and let the people speak at the polls this November.
