James Lehner: Politicians sold out

Regarding the July 31 news article “Drug company rules loosened”: Thanks for exposing the obviously corrupt action of Congress and the president in enacting the Ensuring Patient Access and Effective Drug Enforcement Act of 2016.

This is not just a bad law, it is criminal, and since this law unanimously passed both the House and Senate, all representatives have ignored their constituents and instead represented the pharmaceutical industry.

No wonder drug costs are so high. It must have cost a lot to buy Congress and the president.

If we the voters do not take this into consideration in November, then we perpetuate government for sale and minimize the value of our vote. Goodbye, democracy. We need to make “career politician” an oxymoron, and this is a perfect example of why.
