Jim Nolan: Long list of lacking laws

Do any of the state Republicans, mostly lawyers, know anything about constitutional law? Apparently not, say the judges.

First there was the Amendment One, which less than 26 percent of state voters ratified stating marriage is only between a man and a woman. It was found to be unconstitutional and was erased from the books.

Next there was the tenure nullification, which was declared unconstitutional and likewise restored as a right for all teachers.

Thirdly and most recently, the voter ID law has been declared null and void.

Our Republican legislators in Raleigh either like passing unjust laws, don’t know what is constitutional or are simply stupid.

House Bill 2 will add to the list after taxpayers pay a South Carolina lawyer to argue for a law that will soon be added to those already found lacking.

Attorney General Roy Cooper was intelligent enough not to waste time or money defending any of the aforementioned laws and should be rewarded by a new position come November.
