Steve Clark: A level field
Regarding the Aug. 16 column “What makes America great? Team USA is showing us”: Alyssa Rosenberg and Hillary Clinton say that the success of American athletes at the Rio Olympics somehow invalidates Donald Trump’s claim that America isn’t as great as it could be. I think the opposite is true. Because the IOC has cracked down hard on cheaters, banning nearly the entire Russian team, the Olympic playing field is quite level. Too bad all Americans don’t enjoy such a situation. Bad trade deals, illegal immigration, high taxation and overregulation have tilted the field away from many ordinary Americans.
