Jon Gibson: Lunacy continues at UNC
Regarding the Aug. 25 sports article “Fedora defends hiring of former Illinois coach”: I continue to chuckle at UNC athletics’ seemingly never-ending efforts toward eventual self-destruction.
The latest example is Larry Fedora deciding to bring in Tim Beckman, tainted by accusations of player mistreatment at his previous stop, as a volunteer coach on the football staff.
What’s next? Ryan Lochte as staff disciplinarian and Jerry Sandusky as locker room manager?
One thing is certain: Bill Friday must now be approaching 3,000 rpms as he spins in his grave.
