Jemele Hill is returning to her SportsCenter show “The Six” on Monday night, after serving a two-week suspension for her tweets about Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones.

ESPN suspended Hill after she violated ESPN’s social media policy for a second time.

Earlier this month, Jones said he would bench any player who kneeled during the national anthem.

Hill responded with a series of tweets, including one that was in response to another tweet suggesting people contact the Cowboys’ advertisers’ corporate offices.

“If you strongly reject what Jerry Jones said, the key is his advertisers,” Hill tweeted. “Don’t place the burden squarely on the players.”

This wasn’t the first time Hill was criticized for her tweets.

In September, Hill, who was a sports writer at The News & Observer from 1997-99, used Twitter to call President Donald Trump a white supremacist, causing an uproar on social media and in the White House. ESPN at the time distanced itself from her tweet. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, called Hill’s tweet about Trump, “a fireable offense.”

While many have criticized Hill, others have shown support. A hashtag #IStandwithJemele started to trend. Some sports writers changed their Twitter profile pictures to a photo of Hill. Others criticized ESPN.

Hill’s co-host, Michael Smith, hosted “The Six” by himself while Hill was suspended.

“Thank you all for standing with me and by me,” Hill tweeted Monday. “Trust me, you did not do so in vain. My heart is full. See you tonight.”
