Former N.C. State and NBA basketball player J.J. Hickson is in a Georgia jail after being charged with armed robbery involving a knife.
The 29-year-old Hickson was one of at least two people involved in a home invasion in Senoia, Ga., located in Coweta County, southwest of Atlanta. Coweta County Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Yarbrough told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that a number of personal items were taken and someone was attacked during the incident.
The arrested was first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Saturday.
Hickson, from Marietta, Ga., played one season at N.C State in 2007-08. The 6-9 forward averaged 14.8 points and 8.5 rebounds. He left for the NBA following that season and was the 19th overall pick by Cleveland in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft.

Hickson played for Cleveland, Sacramento, Portland, Denver and Washington during his eight-year NBA career. He last played in the NBA in 2016.
He most recently played overseas in Lebanon earlier this year.
