UNC cornerback Cotman medically retires from football, school says

North Carolina cornerback C.J. Cotman, a rising junior, will medically retire from football, the school said in a press release Tuesday.

Cotman, who has dealt with recurring migraine headaches, will continue to pursue his degree and assist the football program.

Cotman had six tackles last season, including four against ECU on Sept. 8.

Cotman, who is 5-10, 175-pounds, is from Clearwater, Fla. He was rated four-star prospect by 247sports coming out of high school.
