Fever GM Announces Aliyah Boston Injury Update
Aliyah Boston had a big season with the Indiana Fever in 2025, averaging career-highs of 15.0 points and 3.7 assists, on top of 8.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. She was a dominant force for Indiana, especially in the absence of Caitlin Clark.
With Clark playing just 13 games last season due to a groin injury and a bone bruise, Boston had to help carry the scoring load for the Fever alongside guard Kelsey Mitchell. Not only did the 24-year-old forward get her third straight All-Star nod, but she also finished the campaign as an MVP candidate.
Furthermore, Boston received All-WNBA Second Team and All-Defensive Second Team honors.
That being said, there were naturally plenty of concerns for Boston when she sustained what was described as a right lower extremity injury during her stint in the 3-on-3 women's basketball league Unrivaled.
The injury not only caused Boston to miss the Unrivaled playoffs with her team, Phantom BC, but she was also removed from the Team USA lineup for the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
On Monday, after the 2026 WNBA Draft, Fever general manager Amber Cox addressed Boston's health status.
Cox made it clear that Boston has already recovered and should be ready when the new season starts.
"Aliyah's doing great. Ready to go," Cox shared, according to Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files.
For what it's worth, Boston was seen doing on-court work with the Fever in late March, sparking optimism that she will be available when the 2026 campaign opens on May 8.
Based on Cox's update, it doesn't look like Boston has suffered any setback in her recovery.
Before the season kicks off, the Fever have preseason games against the New York Liberty and Dallas Wings.
