Bulls Beef Up Squad With Arizona Standout in Mock NBA Draft
The Chicago Bills are already in the postseason, and it hurts, but at least they can look ahead to a promising selection in the upcoming NBA draft.
Following the team being eliminated from the playoffs, they parted ways with Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley. So far, head coach Billy Donovan is still with the franchise, but that could go either way.
In a Monday, April 13 NBA mock draft, Bryan Kalbrosky of USA Today has the Bulls landing the No. 9 pick and taking Arizona Wildcats guard Brayden Burries. At 20, Burries is young and moldable, which is what this new phase of the Bulls needs.
“Arizona freshman Brayden Burries was an exciting prospect to watch during the Big Dance, making it all the way to the Final Four and dropping 23 points against Arkansas,” Kalbrosky states in the feature. “He had two breakout games in January, which helped solidify his draft stock.”
The All-Big 12 guard has delivered big numbers in high-stress matchups, such as scoring 31 points with seven rebounds and five steals in a game against Colorado on March 7 and 20 points with 12 rebounds and five assists during a win over Kansas on Feb. 28.

“He has proven productivity, and he is able to defend, relocate, move the ball and make 3-pointers off the dribble,” Kalbrosky adds. “Burries would make a great pick for whatever new executives take over the front office for the Bulls.”

Looking at the prospects in the upcoming NBA draft, it’s a strong round of talented players, but I agree that Burries stands above the others, when it comes to being a good fit for the Bulls. The only downside is that the Bulls are already stacked with guards, but they’re a position that will always need big depth, and that’s where Burries comes in. It’s not hyperbole to think that once Burries gets his feet wet in the NBA, he could become one of the strongest guards of his generation.
