The USWNT is playing Japan for the second time in a span of days after playing them over the past weekend.
The two national teams faced off last Saturday at PayPal Park, which was the first of three friendly matches between the two this month.
In the previous match, the USWNT defeated Japan 2-1 with goals from Rose Lavelle and Lindsey Heaps.
In the 9th minute, Rose Lavelle scored the opener for the USWNT. Lavelle was assisted by Trinity Rodman. The USWNT was leading 1-0 at halftime, and in the second half, Lindsey Heaps scored in the 48th minute; she was assisted by Lavelle.
In the 61st minute, Riko Ueki scored one back for Japan, and Honoka Hayashi provided the assist.
The USWNT vs Japan match at Lumen Field is set to make history as it will become the largest crowd attendance for a standalone women's sporting event in Seattle.
