Warriors' Draymond Green Leaves No Doubt on His NBA MVP

Draymond Green grabbed headlines on Thursday night as he helped lead the Golden State Warriors to a 126-121 play-in victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Green locked downKawhi Leonard in a defensive masterclass, limiting the Clippers star to just two points in the fourth quarter.

It was Steph Curry who took center stage, though. The 12-time All-Star turned back the clock to produce a vintage performance in the win. Curry went off for 35 points in the most important game of the season for Golden State. It was an MVP-worthy performance for the 38-year-old, who made sure to keep the Warriors' season alive.

Curry isn't getting Green's vote for this season's Most Valuable Player, though. Curry already has two MVP trophies in his cabinet, and Green is adamant that it belongs to someone else this year.

On a recent episode of "The Draymond Green Show," the Warriors veteran left no doubt on who his 2025-26 MVP is. Green does not get a vote for the NBA's end-of-season awards, but he is adamant that it's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who deserves the title for a second straight year.

"His team is still the team to beat," Green said. "Number one record in the league. He's still doing what he's doing on a nightly basis, putting up 30 points and carrying his team, and I think it's beautiful to watch."

Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder to a 64-18 record, the best in the NBA. He played 68 games in the regular season, averaging 31.1 points on 55.3% shooting, 4.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.7 triples per game.

In Green's mind, there is no player more deserving of the MVP title than Gilgeous-Alexander. Green ranked Victor Wembanyama second in the MVP race, while Nikola Jokic rounded out his Top 3.

Green also shared his pick for Defensive Player of the Year. He believes Wembanyama should bring home the title.

Kon Knueppel edged out Cooper Flagg in Green's unofficial Rookie of the Year ballot.

Green's Coach of the Year is Mitch Johnson of the San Antonio Spurs, while it's Keldon Johnson, also of the Spurs, who got his vote for Sixth Man of the Year.
