Knicks Fans Ripped For 'Unhinged' Behavior After Game 2 Loss

The New York Knicks lost a heartbreaker to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference first round playoff series on Monday night. New York blew a 14-point lead in the second half, as Atlanta tied up the series. It's 1-1 heading into Game 3 later this week.

You wouldn't know that the Knicks lost based on their fan base's behavior following the game, though.

Video of Knicks fans cheering and chanting on the sidewalk outside of Madison Square Garden has gone viral on social media.

Dozens of Knicks fans gathered outside of Madison Square Garden to chant "Knicks In 5!" following their heartbreaking Game 2 loss.

It's odd behavior from a fan base that hasn't experienced true championship success in several decades.

Knicks fans ripped for 'unhinged' behavior after Game 2

"You should be miserable after a loss like that. Not chasing clout online. These fake Knicks fans don't represent the real fanbase at all," one fan wrote.

"One of the more bizarre things I've seen," one added.

"Unhinged behavior," one shared.

"It was authentic and cool years ago, now it's corny and for the cameras," one added.

"Too bad they didn't catch me yelling at them," one shared.

"I woke up still annoyed from that loss and this did not help. I'm not saying they aren't real fans, I'm saying this subset of Knicks fans needs to do better. We literally lost. Painfully too. Stop making a mockery out of our fandom," one fan added.

"Loser mentality," one added.

Game 3 of the first round playoff series between New York and Atlanta is set for Thursday night.
